Finger and Apple Pencil

Everything works with a finger. Apple Pencil adds a few shortcuts.

  1. With a finger

    • Undo: tap with two fingers, or use the Undo arrow at the top right. Redo is the button beside it.
    • In a sketch: drag with two fingers to pan and pinch to zoom. Press and hold to get a crosshair above your finger for precise placing.
    • In 3D: drag with one finger to turn the part, two fingers to pan, and pinch to zoom. Double-tap with two fingers to fit the part to the screen.
  2. With Apple Pencil

    • Quick line: with no tool picked, draw a stroke and you get one straight line from where you started to where you lifted.
    • Scribble to erase: zig-zag over a line to delete it. One undo brings it back.
    • Hover: hold the tip just above the screen to see where it will snap before you touch down.
    • Squeeze (Apple Pencil Pro): opens the drawing tools right at the tip.
    • Double-tap: confirms, like pressing Enter.

Squeeze and double-tap follow your iPad's Apple Pencil settings.

In a project, tap Show me on the coach card to watch the step played out. Support has an email address if that doesn't do it.
