Exporting STL and STEP

Get your part out of MakerSketch and into your slicer.

  1. Open the export sheet

Tap the share button at the top right, or choose Export… from the Part's name menu. Projects end with an Export to print step that opens it for you.

  2. Pick a format

    • STL is the one slicers want. It uses your Part's units, millimetres unless you changed them.
    • STEP is for other CAD apps. It can't carry everything yet: cuts, revolves, threads and some rounded edges stop it, and the app says so. Export STL for printing instead.
    • DXF exports the flat outline.
  3. Send it

Choose Share… to send it straight to a slicer app, or Save to Files… to pick it up on your computer.

Stuck in the app?

In a project, tap Show me on the coach card to watch the step played out. Support has an email address if that doesn't do it.
